N2 - During the last decade, the Local Health Unit (AUSL) of Imola has experimented with various methods of surveillance of surgical site infections. The system has become an integral part of the care process with our membership in the Regional Surveillance of Surgical Site Infections of the Emilia-Romagna Regional (SIChER1) in 2007. Since 2011 the monitoring was extended to all operations that are performed in the operating room (Sicher 2).The objective of this study is to compare the methods of the various periods in both quality and quantity. The new monitoring method further and drastically reduced the time of collection and data entry while maintaining the quality of the information.
