N2  -  Introduction. The need to produce protocols established with EBM and EBN requires a systematic monitoring of their applications. ULSS 5 West Vicenza implemented five procedures regarding infection control: 1. Hand Hygiene, 2. SSI Prevention, 3. Bladder Catheterization, 4. Sterilization of Medical Devices, 5.Hospital Isolation measures. For these procedures an application control was conducted. Objectives. 1. outcomes of the production and dissemination of procedures and protocols in terms of knowledge and application 2. verification of the ULSS 5’s structures applicability 3. sensibilization of the Health Care workers as regards the infections’ subjiect into health care organizations; 4. identification of training needs. Methods. Two steps study: a) knowledge assessment’s questionnaire, b) direct observation of the procedures applications and comparison. Results. Questionnaires: The overall participation rate was 74%. Remarks: 99% of the remarks on these data have been considered and used for statistical purposes and as informations on individual procedures. Conclusions. The comparison between the two steps of the study allowed an innovative approach on the assessment of knowledge and application of the examined procedures. The results allow us to have an accurate picture of the situation and of the critical areas which need direct actions and strategies to be improved.
